Manuel Cardenas

CAD Operator

Manuel Cardenas was born and raised in Long Beach, California.  A childhood full of remodeling tasks and construction projects on his grandparents’ home led to his interest in design. He attended Cerritos College and upon graduating in 2020 during the midst of the pandemic, Manuel earned a degree in Architectural Design & Studies. After a few years of working while competing in club and semiprofessional soccer, he joined the Aztec family in 2023 as a CAD Operator. During the workday, Manuel creates new schematic drawings for his team of Regional Account Managers while updating and standardizing older drawings.

His personal interests range widely in scope, encompassing both physical and mental challenges. Manuel enjoys playing soccer, creative freewriting, weight training, drawing, and is actively learning Japanese. Currently he lives in Torrance, CA and loves to take his dog, Azula, to the park for walks.

Frame Tents

Frame Tents feature a skeleton of aluminum framework and steel connectors to support the tent top. Although this style of tent is "free-standing" by design, it still must be anchored to resist wind forces. All styles of frame tents have no poles that come to the ground in the interior space of the tent.

Pole Tents

Pole tents rely on tension in the membrane to hold the shape of the tent system. These tents are supported by single or multiple centerpoles in the middle of the tent area and a series of sidepoles around the perimeter of the tent area. The tent is tensioned toward the anchoring locations commonly with a rope or ratchet strap.
