Mainor Ortega

Production Assistant

Born and raised in Nicaragua, Mainor built a successful career before moving to California, most of his relatives remain there. Mainor now resides in the Los Angeles region with his wife and kids.

Prior to joining Aztec, Mainor studied Systems Engineering before building a successful and stable career in the field of meteorology at the highest national level in Nicaragua. With nearly twenty years at the National Laboratory of Nicaragua (LANAMET), an agency of the Nicaraguan government where measuring instruments are calibrated and certified, Mainor rose through the ranks to lead both the areas of volume and mass.

Mainor joined Aztec in late 2021 where he jumped in with both feet getting to know all aspects of Aztec production. His background has made him a great asset to the company, with high attention to detail in production processes and efficiencies.

In his time outside of work, Mainor enjoys time with his family, coaching his kids sports teams, and playing basketball and soccer.

Frame Tents

Frame Tents feature a skeleton of aluminum framework and steel connectors to support the tent top. Although this style of tent is "free-standing" by design, it still must be anchored to resist wind forces. All styles of frame tents have no poles that come to the ground in the interior space of the tent.

Pole Tents

Pole tents rely on tension in the membrane to hold the shape of the tent system. These tents are supported by single or multiple centerpoles in the middle of the tent area and a series of sidepoles around the perimeter of the tent area. The tent is tensioned toward the anchoring locations commonly with a rope or ratchet strap.
