We recently met with Perry Armstrong, Peter Martel, and Lynn Armstrong of Rain or Shine Tent and Events Company in Randolph, Vermont. Rain or Shine Tent and Events Company is a full service party and event rental company located in central Vermont. We recently met with Kevin Moore, Chief Operating Officer of both Ultimate Events based in Minneapolis, MN and Classic Events & Parties based in Des Moines, IA. The Ultimate Events group of companies has an outstanding history and has recently grown through several key acquisitions over the last 7-8 years. The company recently relocated its corporate headquarters to Plymouth, MN, creating a new 80,000+sqft state of the art production and distribution facility for the event rental marketplace.

We recently met with Ramsey Duqum, Owner of Aable Rents located in Cleveland, OH. Very much like many other event rental companies throughout North America, Ramsey and his team at Aable Rents have found new ways to adapt to the changing event rental marketplace.

We recently met with Bridget Doherty, Owner of Encore Events Rentals and Cal-West Rentals located in the Northern California cities of Healdsburg and Petaluma. Very much like Aztec’s own rental operation in the late 80’s, Encore was recently hit by a devastating building fire which destroyed nearly its entire rental inventory. Bridget and her team have reached new heights with their rebuilding process which has been underway since the fire early in 2013.

We recently met with Peter McVey, Owner of Appleton, WI based McVey Tent & Expo, at jobsite as he and his team installed a tent for an upcoming event. As an ever-present figure representing safety across the tent rental industry, McVey has seen some major changes in his marketplace that warranted a complete shift in his business model.

At the recent Rental Show in Las Vegas we were able to meet with Mike Gould, Vice-President of Hollis, NH based Christian Party Rentals to learn more about their success and future of the industry. With their primary location based in Hollis, NH, Christian Party Rentals is a family run business that has served the New England marketplace for over 75 years.

We recently sat down with Robert Kraak, President of Torrance, CA based Classic Tents to learn more about their success and future of the industry. With locations in Torrance, CA, Tucson, AZ, Hollywood, FL, and Chicago, IL, Classic Tents is one of the nation’s largest providers of tents and temporary structures. As part of the Classic Party Rentals family of companies, the Classic Tents division primarily focuses on larger special events and industrial applications. Robert is a 20 year veteran of our industry and comes with a solid background in business management and finance.

Recently on a visit to Colorado, we sat down with Ian Menzies, Owner and CEO of RC Special Events. Menzies came to the U.S. 17 years ago from Scotland, ultimately settling in Colorado in early 2005. To say his resume is decorated is truly an understatement. After serving as the CEO of two $400 million international engineering companies, he decided to take on the event business. In late 2005 Menzies bought the former, A-Z Party Rental, in Fort Collins and in May 2007 acquired Rental City in Boulder.
